CNU DMA Announces its 9th Annual Career & Networking Reception
Newport News, VA—The Christopher Newport University (CNU) student Direct Marketing Association, advised by marketing professor Dr. Lisa Spiller, announces its 9th Annual Career & Networking Reception. The event will be held at the university on Wednesday, March 30 from 12-2 p.m. in the David Student Union Ballroom. The purpose of the event is to provide business students an opportunity to network with business professionals and learn about the marketing activities at various companies and organizations. Participating business executives will present the full-time positions, internships and/or career-shadowing opportunities currently offered by their organizations.
This event is co-sponsored by The Direct Marketing Association of Washington Educational Foundation (DMAWEF) and Snow Companies. The CNU-DMA expects approximately 80 business school students representing all academic years to attend the event.
Jessica Spragg, CNU DMA President, said, “This event is a win-win opportunity for both students and employers. I have been attending this event since I transferred to CNU during my sophomore year. Every year I have made a valuable connection and landed multiple summer internships as a result. For employers, they have the opportunity to meet well-qualified candidates who are eager to learn more about their companies and apply for their available positions.”
The format will include each business representative providing a brief presentation about his or her organization, explaining what they do, how they use marketing, and showcasing any current opportunities. Following the introductions, everyone will enjoy light refreshments and participate in one-on-one networking.
